曾兼任国家自然科学基金委化学部主任 (1999-2006),国务院学位委员会学科评议组药学学科召集人 (1998-2008),中国药学会副理事长 (1998-2006)。iupac, organic & biomolecular chemistry委员会委员 (titular member,2006-2009),英国皇家化学会fellow (frsc),亚洲药化学会主席 (1998-1999)。现兼任“organic & biomolecular chemistry”,“chemmedchem” “medicinal research review”和“current topics of medicinal chemistry”编委,《中国药物化学》杂志主编,《高等学校化学学报》副主编。中科院上海有机所生命有机国家重点实验室学术委员会副主任,中科院上海药物所新药研究国家重点实验室学术委员会副主任,南开大学农药与元素有机国家重点实验室学术委员会主任等。
